Come and stay in a charming, well appointed single-storey house at Fregene, 4.5 miles from Rome’s Fiumicino Airport and just a couple of hundred metres from the beach, near Ostia Antica, Traiano’ s port, the port of ancient Rome. It accommodates up to six people and comprises two bedrooms, living-room, kitchen, two bathrooms and a pretty, relaxing garden, complete with barbeque, private parking for small-medium cars. You can dine at a different restaurant each lunch time and evening, or you can buy all you need to cook for yourself at the shops just around the corner. And unlike staying in Rome, there is no traffic noise! Fregene is the ideal centre for the family with a variety of interests. The Mediterranean is a ten-minute walk away, or just a couple of minutes on the bicycles provided. For the youngsters the inshore water is shallow, whilst for the energetic both wind-surfing and the new sport of kite-boarding are very popular. Just down the road there is a wonderful WWF park with indigenous animals, trees and plants.You can visit the city of Rome by bus or train – no need to fight the Roman traffic! And the area is full of history; in addition to Ostia Antica and the Emperor Trajan' s harbour, the pre-Roman Etruscan site of Cerverteri is less than an hour away, while Pompeii and Herculenium can be reached in three. Cyclists can start and finish their tour of Italy here, leaving us to look after any baggage not wanted on the trip. Half price for kids under 12 years old.
